When it comes to this item, just use the basics.
When I registered, I was trying to get the cool-unique items that I cam across, even when it came to nasal aspirators. I registered for the Sassy Elephant Aspirator. I thought, "wow how cute is this?". Thankfully, I unexpectedly received plan-Jane one's as well. I'd have to say, Maddy uses the Elephant Aspirator as a little toy-instead of it's purpose. I tried using it several times and it did not do a great job. The end tip, is wider and hard to get in the end of a small baby nostril. It does not have the same suction as others. One aspirator, I have had luck with is; "Safety First Hospital Hospital's Choice". It's very plain, very basic but, it works.
The Great Bum Paste/Cream/Lotion/Butter Debate!
The choices one has for baby bum skincare, it is unbelievable. I think I have one of all the most popular one's out there today. Let's take a look at the pro's and con's of each:
Desitin: Oldie but, goodie. Obviously for this product to be around so long they are doing something right. I think the texture is perfect. I like having a diaper rash cream that is rich and thick, not to watery, or oily. It never gets messy when I go to put it on. I love how a small dot of Desitin, can go such a long way. Destinin is offered in 3 different varities; Rapid Relief, Maximum Stregth, & Multi-purpose. I've tried both the Rapid Relief and the Maximum Strength-both our wonderful products. I apply with each diaper change and the tube still lasts me a several weeks. I am looking forward to trying the Destinin Multi-Purpose Cream (you can apply it to skin irritations and prevent chapness in cold weather-which is great up here in Boston!). Destinin's long history proves it is a #1 product!

Just the name alone, gets this product extra points with me. Boudreaux's Butt Paste is a quality product. If you are looking for a diaper rash cream that goes a long way and is not as "thick" as other creams, this is what you are looking for. I really enjoyed using this product, it goes on smoothly and has a oily texture for a easy, smooth spread when applying. And when removing to clean your baby, you do not have to wipe for hours to get it off, very easy to clean. http://www.blairex.com/BLButtPaste.php
I love Aveeno products for myself and I must say their baby line is rather terrific. If you are looking for a extremely rich texture for your baby cream..this is what you want. It's natural and contains oats unlike some other brands. I saw fast acting relief when using this product, by the next diaper change I saw less red and soother skin. I would highly recommend Aveeno's Soothing Relief Diaper Rash Cream. Visit their site for more information and be sure to sign-up for special offers!

Every Momma needs to pick this up! It's a HUGE must have.
Palmolive Ultra Baby is S-U-P-E-R-B! For the first few months after Maddy was born, I was just putting all her bottles in the dishwasher with our stuff and there is nothing wrong with that. However, I am like a very panicky person at times and all these "what if's" go through my mind. For example, if I was loading the dishwasher and we had any sort or seafood that week, or if I was washing a bowl strawberries were in...I had this image in my mind that somehow this stuff would end up in her bottle and though the dishwasher would wash it, I had a fear not all of it would come out and Maddy would have some sort of reaction. I know you are thinking "WHAT?!?". Yup, it's true I panic and stress about situations that most likely would never happen. When I came across Palmolive Ultra Baby I was excited to see a baby dish soap. The bottle is adorable and it immediately caught y eye. After reading the label which told me it was hypoallergenic and safe to also use on toys, I was sold! I went home and tried it out, there are no heavy fragrances and the scent is so light and leave everything spotless. I love how I can use it to wash Maddy's rattles and teethers. I am still so happy with product and will continue using it for a long time to come.

DROPPS Laundry Pacs
.....will soon become your favorite!
I am all about keeping things s-i-m-p-l-e, especially when it comes to laundry. I hate having to lug laundry soap up and down the stairs (though I guess you can count that as cardio). I came across a bag of these at Babies R Us and once again, I could not resist! These come in a easy to carry small bag, and there is no liquid involved. They are little pouches and you just throw one in the wash. They seemed to do as many loads as a regular sized bottle of laundry soap does. There is no measuring or messy spills with these little guys, it's just convenient and easy! I've also seen less wear on clothes and better color coming out of each wash, nothing looks faded. I would highly recommend Dropps for the Mommy-on-the-go or to someone who just wants to keep life simple. On a side note, they are environmentally friendly,YAY, go green!
